I carried out a lot of research before opting for this tower.
It is undoubtably an expensive purchase, but THIS version is so versatile and has multiple uses.
If you’re looking for advice on which tower to purchase, if you can afford it, you won’t go far wrong with this version. The height adj’ wheels are DEFINITELY a must and SO useful for both levelling and moving the tower.
It can be built at various heights from 3.15m to 7.15m, on uneven ground and even on a stairwell. The platform(s) can be situated at 0.25m (10″) increments.
Another definite plus, is that unlike many towers, this has a built-in ladder on BOTH ends.
It was simple enough to build to 5.35m, in fact I managed it on my own. Above that height, it becomes more difficult, and you need to ensure that the lower platform is strategically positioned, to enable you to reach up and fit the upper platform at the optimal height, to then enable you to fit the guard rails and THEN safely add height to the tower.
I also opted for the ‘Tower Offset Kit’ which (depending on your proposed use), I recommend, as it enables the tower to be tied/secured to the house wall.
I currently have the upper platform set at just below 2nd storey gutter height (it could go higher), which has allowed me to easily replace my roof tile vents. Even at that height, the tower feels secure, and I feel safe.
I would also suggest that a toeboard is necessary, especially for the upper platform at height (I made my own).
The only thing I wish it came with, is a second set of guard rails for the lower platform, especially when it is positioned above 3m.
The aluminium Base Bars, Rails and Bracers, whilst fit for purpose, will not stand any abuse and IMHO, must not be stood, or stepped on.
Overall, to date, Highly Recommended and despite the cost, I don’t feel robbed!
