Can I build a tower higher than 7m (working height)? (Domestic towers)

Yes, our eDIY and MDIY towers can reach a maximum working height of 7.15m (23’5”) and our SUPER DIY has a maximum working height of 9.35m (30’9”). For anything taller please see our Trade King and Loyal Industrial towers.

Do I need a certified tower?

Certification to EN 1004-1:2020 is a legal requirement for equipment used on commercial construction sites or for business use. For homeowners, it is a hallmark of safety and quality assurance.

What is the difference between working height, tower height and platform height?

Working height is generally calculated as the platform height plus 2 metres, representing the reach of a person standing on the platform. Tower height is the physical height of the structure itself.

Can I fit a domestic tower in a car?

Most domestic scaffold towers are designed for easy transport. The components typically fit comfortably into a standard hatchback with the rear seats folded down.

How do I offset frames for use on a slope? (Domestic towers)

To use a tower on a slope, you should choose a model compatible with adjustable base plates or legs. These allow you to level the tower safely on uneven ground by adjusting the height of each corner independently.

Can I use the scaffold tower outside?

Yes, but you must strictly avoid using towers in windy conditions. Always ensure outriggers/stabilizers are deployed as per the instruction manual for maximum stability.

Only if your existing tower is from our DIY tower range. You cannot not mix brands from different manufacturers.

Yes, they are included as standard so you can use the tower in the standard set up too.

Does it have certification (EN1004)?

Certification is not currently required for DIY towers. Our domestic tower platforms are load tested according to the EN1004 Class 3 standard.

How long does it take to build?

Take a look at our video below where a colleague assembles a SUPER DIY 5S Scaffold Tower straight out of a small car in just a few minutes. The higher towers will take slightly longer, and it is advisable to do this with two people.

How wide is the tower?

The width of our DIY towers is 600mm (measured centre-to-centre on the frame uprights). The outer dimension is 40mm more.

Yes, you can buy various extension packs for your SUPER DIY tower if required.

What is included in the +2m XL extension pack?

The extension pack has almost as much material as a tower. The pack includes an extra platform, 4 XL outrigger conversions (to transform your telescopic outriggers into extra-large outriggers) and the corresponding extension frames, horizontal braces, and diagonal braces.

Why does the platform come with 3 hooks only?

The platform only requires 2 points of contact, one at each end, for a solid connection to the tower. We give it 3, one quick locking catch at one end and 2 hooks the other for easy removal. Simply release the hooks and depress the catch with one hand while lifting the platform with the other to remove.
