Strictly speaking, no. But having two or four outriggers will give a bigger footprint and make the tower feel more secure. In addition, the outriggers can give extra adjustments to uneven ground. Especially in garden use.

The extension pack has almost as much material as a tower. The pack includes an extra platform, 4 telescopic outriggers and the corresponding extension frames, horizontal braces, and diagonal braces.

The platform only requires 2 points of contact, one at each end, for a solid connection to the tower. They are required to hold the platform in position and avoid external forces from lifting the platform free.

Scaffold tower was dispatched when they said it would be dispatched (was out of stock when I ordered it). Easy to put together with clear instructions. I’m not that great on ladders so this scaffold really helped when using power tool to prepare the wall for painting.
