Choosing the right ladder height is essential for both safety and efficiency.

🚫 Safety

Using a ladder that’s too short can tempt you to overreach, throwing off your balance and increasing the risk of tipping sideways. Conversely, an overly tall ladder may be too steep or unstable for shorter jobs, creating a different kind of hazard.

💪 Efficiency

The correct height allows you to work with your arms in a natural, comfortable position — minimising strain, improving accuracy, and helping you stay productive for longer periods.

🧱 Ladder Longevity

Operating within the rated height and weight limits of the ladder not only protects you but also reduces wear and tear, extending its lifespan.

A Telescopic Multi Purpose Ladder is a type of ladder that extends and locks in place rung by rung, allowing it to be adjusted to different heights. It can collapse down to a fraction of its full length for easy storage and transportation. Many models are designed to work in multiple configurations — straight ladder, step ladder, or scaffold platform support — making them incredibly adaptable. Common uses include:

  • 💡 Changing light bulbs or reaching high shelves indoors
  • 🎨 Painting walls, ceilings, or stairwells
  • 🧹 Cleaning gutters and windows
  • 🔧 Performing outdoor repairs or garden maintenance
  • ⚡ Professional tasks such as electrical work or site inspections

This needs to be answered in reverse.

Platform height is how far you are standing off the floor, that is, distance between the ground and the upper platform board.

Tower height is the physical height of the tower itself, that is, distance between the ground and the top rail.

Working height is how high you can reach when you are standing on the platform. It is a common practice that working height is platform height plus 2 metres.

Please see below for a handy diagram.
